Privacy Policy
Your memories are sacred. Here is exactly how we handle your information.
Section 1Who We Are
DataPockets ("we," "us," or "our") is a memory preservation platform that uses NFC tokens and QR codes to connect physical heirlooms to digital collections of photos, videos, and stories. We are currently in pre-launch and collecting waitlist registrations through our website at datapockets.com. If you have questions about this policy, you can reach us at will@datapockets.com.
Section 2Information We Collect
At this stage, we collect only what is necessary to keep you informed about our launch.
- Waitlist Registration: When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. We may also collect your first name if you choose to provide it.
- Usage Data: Like most websites, we automatically collect basic technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages viewed. This information is used only in aggregate to understand how people find and use our site.
- Analytics & Site Performance: We use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand how visitors find and use our site. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, time on site, browser type, and general geographic location. Google Search Console provides data about how our site appears in search results. This data is collected in aggregate and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- SEO & Traffic Analysis: We use Ahrefs to analyze our website's search performance, backlink profile, and overall traffic trends. Ahrefs processes publicly available web data and aggregated site metrics. No personally identifiable visitor information is shared with Ahrefs through our use of their platform.
- Cookies: We use cookies set by Google Analytics to track site usage. These are analytics cookies, not advertising cookies. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioral tracking cookies.
Section 3How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:
- To send you updates about the DataPockets launch, including when we go live and any early-access offers
- To respond to questions or inquiries you send us directly
- To understand general traffic patterns so we can improve our website
- To comply with our legal obligations
We will never sell your email address or personal information to third parties. Ever. Your information is used only to keep you connected to DataPockets.
Section 4Email Communications
By joining our waitlist, you are agreeing to receive occasional emails from DataPockets about our launch and product news. We use Mailchimp to manage our email list, which means your email address is stored on Mailchimp's servers subject to their privacy policy.
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send, or by emailing us directly at will@datapockets.com. We will remove you promptly.
Section 5How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share your information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use Mailchimp to manage our email list, Hostinger to host our website, Google Analytics and Google Search Console to analyze site traffic and search performance, and Ahrefs to analyze SEO and traffic trends. These providers access your information only to perform services on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request from a government authority.
- Business Transfer: In the unlikely event that DataPockets is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before this happens and give you the opportunity to opt out.
Section 6Data Storage & Security
Your information is stored on servers located in the United States. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. However, protecting your data is something we take seriously and will continue to invest in as our platform grows.
Section 7Your Rights & Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate information
- Delete your information from our records
- Opt out of email communications at any time
- Withdraw consent where we rely on consent to process your data
To exercise any of these rights, simply email us at will@datapockets.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Section 8Children's Privacy
DataPockets is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
Section 9California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of your data, and to opt out of any sale of your personal information. We will notify waitlist members of any material changes by email, and we will always post the updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of our website after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
